[The Walking Ghost]

[In a world acting like a criminal cartel, hope is a radical act.]

by  [Dejan Dukovski]
directed by  Srđan Janićijević

We live in a world that has become a 'factory for corpses'—a system that perfectly drains the essence of life to fuel a singular goal: Profit. This profit feeds the power that exploits, corrupts, and manipulates. It is a 'hybrid regime' where the line between a functioning society and a criminal cartel has vanished. In this camp, our lives are diminished into serial production, and our silence is our consent.

"

[Mara is not a soldier; he is a 'worthless' intellectual, a Shakespearologist stripped of his home by systemic debt. His story is the transition from a victim of the plutocracy to a ghost of justice. He launches a private, anarchic revolution—a desperate, blood-soaked climb to the top of the pyramid. This performance asks the ultimate question of our era: Is Mara a hero or a murderer? Or is he simply the only one awake enough to strike back?"]

[Dejan Dukovski wrote a drama that aims to open our eyes to a society that he does not spare. Director Srđan Janićijević represents this text visually, thrown in our faces like sand that will scratch our eyes for a long time, so that we finally realize we are on the wrong path—living without empathy, compassion, or a sense of the Other.]

["The Walking Ghost" is a monumental performance. It is grand enough to house within itself all the sadness, despair, and memories of beautiful times—times that perhaps never even happened, or were never truly beautiful to begin with.

"The Walking Ghost" is the sonic echo of "No Justice, No Peace!" This play demands answers, but it also calls for accountability. Above all, it calls for our personal responsibility: the responsibility to be awake, courageous, and disobedient citizens.]
